Anita, our Arts Adviser, home educates her own children and specialises in delivering Arts Award to the child educated outside of school. She believes that the Arts Award provides wonderful opportunities for home educated children:
“At last, here is an opportunity to have our childrens’ artistic education developed and acknowledged within a national qualification. At the same time it builds a unique portfolio of work that is useful for further education and future careers. Home educated children who are interested in developing their Arts Education often find the Art G.C.S.E. & ‘A’ level limiting. The Arts Award offers a welcome freedom in a way that the traditional exams don’t.”
Arts Award also offers nationally recognised qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) with Gold carrying UCAS points equivalent to a B grade at AS level. Click here to see how Arts Award compares to other qualifications.

We offer skype and video conferencing mentoring for students who may be studying anywhere in the U.K. or abroad.
The Arts Award journey is one which will be familiar to many home educators.
It is uniquely designed around each student, fully inclusive to the ability and interests of all.
It develops self motivation, planning, organisational and leadership skills.
It provides opportunities for individuals to work alone as well as collaborate. To review and discuss their own and others’ work.
It builds confidence and challenges the student to try out and develop new skills.
It builds on existing strengths and interests.
It develops new skills and provides opportunities to extend arts experience through linking with professional arts practice.
The student creates their own creative learning journey, agreeing with their Art Adviser personal challenges to be accomplished within a personalised time framework. There is no set time frame to begin or complete work in.
There is scope for exciting and innovative ideas, the Arts Award is approached at a breadth and depth that is appropriate to the individual.
You can choose the role that suits you best whether it is as creator or performer, or backstage in technical or support roles.
